The route most people from Bangladesh take, the mistake to avoid, and the facts that change because you are applying from Bangladesh, each read from the official page it links.
A province's nomination was the largest single route to Canadian permanent residence for Bangladeshi citizens in each year from 2022 to 2025, in the admissions data of IRCC, Canada's immigration department. Under the Provincial Nominee Program, a province picks people it wants to settle there to meet its labour needs: you apply to the province for a nomination first, and to IRCC afterwards. Each province sets its own streams, meaning programmes aimed at particular groups, and Quebec and Nunavut have none; a province can also find you through Express Entry, the federal online pool that ranks skilled workers by points, by sending a notification of interest to candidates whose profile names it.
Book an approved language test and start an educational credential assessment, the report on your degree's Canadian equivalent that Express Entry needs before it counts education gained abroad. The police certificate comes later, and the Bangladesh Police's online clearance system has rules of its own: police verify you at your current address, which must be one of the addresses in your passport, and if you live abroad, the application needs a copy of your passport's details page attested by a Bangladesh embassy or high commission, plus an attested letter naming who will collect it for you. IRCC asks for a scan of the original certificate showing its seal and signature.
The mistake to avoid is asking your college to send your mark sheets. For a degree taken at a college affiliated with a university, WES, an assessor IRCC designates, wants the mark sheets attested by the institution that conducted the examinations and sealed by it in an envelope signed or stamped across the flap, and it states that it will not accept documents sent by colleges or by agents. For National University, WES accepts records only through the university's own electronic transfer. Ask the examining university, not the college where you attended classes.
Express Entry asks a single applicant to show CAD 15,263 in settlement funds, about BDT 1,314,814 at the latest cached exchange rate; larger families need more.
A qualification from Bangladesh is assessed for Canada by one of these organisations: World Education Services (WES), International Credential Assessment Service of Canada (ICAS), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS), International Credential Evaluation Service (ICES) and Comparative Education Service (CES).
A Police Clearance Certificate from the Bangladesh Police, applied for online through its police clearance website.
Canada has no youth mobility agreement with Bangladesh today, so citizens of Bangladesh can join International Experience Canada only through a recognized organization that accepts them.
Tests Canada accepts with centres in Bangladesh include IELTS General Training, CELPIP-General, PTE Core, TEF Canada and TCF Canada.
In the 2021 census, 66% of immigrants born in Bangladesh lived in Ontario, more than in any other province or territory.
Ontario is also where they are most concentrated compared with other immigrants.
